HorsePlay Review 2026: Games, Bonuses & Ohio Availability

HorsePlay offers something quite different from a regular online casino. You can play slots, video poker, bingo, and other casino-style games for real money, but wagers on actual horse races determine the results.

Game Play Network (GPN) operates the platform as a licensed advance deposit wagering company. Instead of using random number generators (RNGs) to determine game outcomes, HorsePlay uses real horse racing results.

It’s an interesting alternative to conventional online casino gaming, particularly in states where real-money online slots aren’t licensed.

However, HorsePlay is not currently confirmed as available in Ohio. The operator’s published list of eligible states excludes Ohio, although some third-party reviews provide conflicting information.

For Ohio players, that is the first thing to understand before considering its games or welcome bonus.

Our assessment: HorsePlay offers an unusually broad selection of games for a horse racing wagering platform. Its biggest strengths are the range of casino-style games and the ability to inspect the underlying racing bets. However, the Credit system, unclear payout expectations, and bonus withdrawal restrictions make it less straightforward than it first appears.

Is HorsePlay Available in Ohio?

Ohio legalised online sports betting in January 2023, but the state still does not authorise conventional real-money online casino games. HorsePlay operates under a different model. Its games use pari-mutuel horse racing wagers rather than conventional online casino wagering.

That distinction allows HorsePlay to operate in several states without licensed real-money online casinos, including California and New York. However, it does not automatically make HorsePlay available everywhere that horse racing betting is permitted.

As of 2026, HorsePlay is not available in Ohio. We confirmed this directly with the HorsePlay team, which currently operates in 19 states, including California, Florida, New York, and Colorado.

Ohio residents therefore cannot currently register and play HorsePlay for real money. We will update this review if HorsePlay expands into the state.

What Is HorsePlay and How Does It Work

HorsePlay How it works and how to bet and play there

HorsePlay launched under its current name in 2024, replacing Game Play Network’s earlier b Spot product. At first look, the website looks like an online casino. There are spinning reels, jackpots, bonus rounds, and familiar gaming themes.

Behind the scenes, though, the wagering works differently. When you deposit money into HorsePlay, you can use your Cash Wallet to purchase Credits. Those purchases fund wagers on real horse races, and the results determine your wins or losses. The games then reveal the results of those wagers.

For example, you might purchase $20 in Credits and play a slot-style game. The amount returned depends on the underlying racing wagers rather than a new random result generated by the slot. If those wagers produce a payout, the game reveals the corresponding result.

What We Learned From Speaking With the HorsePlay Team

We also spoke directly with HorsePlay representatives in November 2026 to better understand how its technology works. One detail worth highlighting is that HorsePlay has a racing team that evaluates races and odds worldwide. The team helps construct the wagers used within the platform.

The company also works with external game developers to adapt casino-style games to its racing-powered system. That means these aren’t necessarily conventional slots simply moved to another website. The games need to work with HorsePlay’s existing wagering results. A game can look and feel like an ordinary slot machine without using the same underlying method to determine payouts. We think HorsePlay could explain this more clearly, especially to people familiar with conventional online casino games.

HorsePlay Games: Slots, Bingo and Video Poker

horseplay app real money games

HorsePlay has expanded its game library considerably since launching. Game Play Network advertises more than 150 titles, covering several popular categories.

These include:

  • Slots: Traditional reel games, themed slots, Hold & Win games, and multi-jackpot titles.
  • Video poker: Poker-style games using racing-powered results.
  • Bingo: Games that resemble familiar digital bingo formats.
  • Scratchers and arcade games: Faster, simpler games with different ways of revealing payouts.
  • Jackpot games: Titles featuring larger potential prizes.

During our October 2026 review, featured games included 3 Pot Piggies, Cowabunga Cash, The Pig House, Ugly Rhino, and Mega 7’s. The lobby also featured releases such as Finnegan’s Treasure 2, CoinNoNet Joker Expanded, and Dionysus Party.

We particularly like that the platform now works with external developers rather than relying exclusively on its original selection of games.

However, there are some limitations. HorsePlay doesn’t offer a conventional live dealer casino, and the game library is still smaller than those found at major regulated online casinos. More importantly, having familiar graphics doesn’t mean a HorsePlay game works exactly like its conventional slot counterpart.

Do HorsePlay Slots Have RTP?

Return to player (RTP) is one of the main differences between HorsePlay and traditional online slots. Regular casino slots typically use an RNG to determine each spin and have a theoretical RTP percentage. For example, a slot with 96% RTP is designed to return an average of $96 for every $100 wagered over a very large number of plays. That isn’t a prediction of an individual player’s winnings.

HorsePlay uses real horse racing results and pari-mutuel wagering arrangements instead. We have not independently verified a comparable overall return percentage for HorsePlay’s games. This makes it difficult to compare the potential returns with conventional online slots.

A similar-looking game shouldn’t be assumed to have the same RTP, volatility, or mathematical characteristics.

For us, this is one of the biggest limitations of the platform. A better explanation of effective player returns, deductions, and payout calculations would make it easier to evaluate the games.

HorsePlay Welcome Bonus: 100% Match Up to $250

HorsePlay advertises a 100% match on a new player’s first qualifying Credit purchase, up to $250. The standard promotion does not require a promo code.

Unlike a conventional casino deposit bonus, the match is based on the Credits you purchase after funding your account.

For example:

First Credit PurchaseBonus CreditsTotal Credits
$10$10$20
$50$50$100
$100$100$200
$250$250$500

The minimum qualifying purchase is $10. However, Bonus Credits are not cash and cannot simply be withdrawn.

HorsePlay Bonus Terms Explained

The welcome promotion carries a 10× wagering requirement, which must be completed within 30 days. If you purchase $100 in Credits and receive $100 in Bonus Credits, the wagering target is $1,000. Your initial qualifying wagering counts toward the requirement, and you may be able to use returns from previous wagers to continue playing.

That doesn’t mean you need to deposit $1,000. However, if your Credits and winnings run out before you complete the requirement, you may need to make additional deposits.

The bonus terms also restrict a player’s first withdrawal until they complete the wagering requirement. We consider that a significant drawback. A player might receive a relatively large payout early in their experience but still be unable to withdraw because they haven’t met the bonus conditions.

The promotion is therefore less flexible than the advertised match might suggest.

Ohio availability note: This is a description of HorsePlay’s standard promotion in eligible states. It should not be interpreted as an offer currently available to Ohio residents.

Can You See the Horse Racing Bets Behind the Games?

Yes, and we particularly appreciate this feature. HorsePlay provides a See Wager Details option that lets players inspect the racing wagers associated with their Credit purchases. Depending on the wager package, these may include Win, Place, Show, Exacta, and Trifecta bets.

Players can review the proposed selections and reshuffle them before confirming a purchase. Once players place and settle wagers, HorsePlay’s games can reveal the associated results.

There’s also a Play All feature for revealing results without playing through every individual animation. We think this is useful because it provides some transparency about what is happening behind the casino-style interface.

However, viewing the underlying wagers isn’t the same as understanding the overall payout mathematics. HorsePlay could do more to explain how its wager construction and deductions affect long-term returns.

HorsePlay Instant Play

One potential problem with racing-powered games is waiting for a race to finish before the results are available.

HorsePlay addresses this through its Instant Play feature, which lets players begin revealing eligible results immediately after purchasing a wagering package.

This makes the experience considerably closer to an ordinary online casino.

However, the technology doesn’t change the underlying wagering model. The payouts still come from horse racing results rather than the animations themselves.

HorsePlay App and Mobile Experience

HorsePlay App US

HorsePlay is designed primarily for mobile gaming. It has a dedicated app for iPhone and iPad, along with a mobile-friendly website that can be accessed from other supported devices.

The interface is relatively simple, with games organized into categories such as new releases, popular titles, jackpots, and video poker.

There’s little emphasis on racecards, form guides, or traditional horse racing analysis. That makes sense given HorsePlay’s target audience. The platform targets people who enjoy casual casino-style games rather than experienced horse racing bettors looking to handicap individual races.

The iOS app had about 4.4 out of 5 stars from more than 7,000 ratings as of October 2026.

HorsePlay does not currently advertise a dedicated Android app, but Android users can access its games through a mobile browser where wagering is permitted.

HorsePlay Deposits and Withdrawals

HorsePlay separates deposited cash from Credits used for gameplay.

Your Cash Wallet holds your deposited money and eligible winnings. Credits are purchased using that balance and fund the underlying racing wagers.

Purchased Credits have a dollar-denominated value, but they aren’t the same as withdrawable cash.

That distinction is important.

HorsePlay advertises payment options including Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and supported bank transfers.

Available methods may vary depending on the account and payment provider.

How Fast Does HorsePlay Pay Out?

HorsePlay advertises fast withdrawals, and some customers report receiving payments quickly.

However, other reviews mention processing delays, identity verification problems, and confusion about withdrawal restrictions.

We haven’t independently completed a real-money withdrawal, so we can’t verify a typical payout time.

Players should also distinguish between ordinary Cash Wallet withdrawals and withdrawals affected by promotional conditions.

Someone who has accepted the welcome bonus may face additional restrictions until the wagering requirement has been satisfied.

Is HorsePlay Legit?

HorsePlay is operated by Game Play Network, a licensed advance deposit wagering company.

GPN has an Oregon master license and additional authorizations for operating in eligible jurisdictions.

Its business operates under applicable horse racing legislation, including the federal Interstate Horseracing Act.

That gives HorsePlay a different regulatory foundation from conventional online casinos and promotional sweepstakes sites.

However, regulatory authorization in one jurisdiction doesn’t automatically permit the company to accept customers in every US state.

HorsePlay also offers responsible gambling features through its b Safe program, including deposit limits, cooling-off periods, and self-exclusion.

What Do Players Think of HorsePlay?

Customer feedback is mixed.

When we checked in October 2026, HorsePlay had an App Store rating of approximately 4.4/5 from more than 7,000 ratings, compared with around 2.0/5 on Trustpilot.

The platforms have very different audiences and review volumes, so neither figure should be treated as a complete measure of customer satisfaction.

Positive feedback often mentions the selection of games, enjoyable gameplay, and successful withdrawals.

Negative reviews raise concerns about technical interruptions, delayed Credit purchases, withdrawal problems, and dissatisfaction with payouts.

Some customers also appear to misunderstand the difference between purchasing Credits and depositing cash.

That supports one of our main observations: HorsePlay’s unusual wagering model needs clearer explanations, particularly around the relationship between Credits, racing results, and withdrawable winnings.

HorsePlay vs. Regular Online Casinos

The comparison helps explain why HorsePlay doesn’t fit neatly into the usual online casino category.

It offers familiar casino-style entertainment, but players are participating in a different underlying form of gambling.

Our HorsePlay Review Verdict

HorsePlay is one of the more unusual real-money gaming platforms we’ve reviewed.

Its combination of real horse racing wagers and casino-style games is a genuinely different approach to online gambling. The growing game library, mobile-focused design, and ability to inspect underlying wagers are all positive features.

We also appreciate having had the opportunity to speak directly with HorsePlay about its technology. Understanding how the racing team and game developers work together makes the product easier to evaluate.

However, we still have reservations.

The platform looks very similar to a conventional online casino, which can create expectations that aren’t necessarily accurate. The Credit system takes some getting used to, published information about overall player returns is limited, and the welcome bonus comes with substantial wagering and withdrawal restrictions.

For Ohio.bet readers, the immediate limitation is availability. HorsePlay does not include Ohio in its published list of supported states, so we cannot currently recommend it as a real-money gaming option for Ohio players.

If the company confirms an Ohio launch, it would be worth reassessing. Until then, HorsePlay is best viewed as an example of how horse racing wagering is being adapted into a new type of casino-style gaming experience.
