Two More Ohio Sports Betting Licenses Granted

Canadian-based FansUnite Entertainment Inc. has been granted a Sports Gaming Supplier License for the state of Ohio from the Ohio Casino Control Commission.

As well, Underdog Sports, the fast-growing fantasy sports company, has been awarded a license by the OCCC to operate as an online sports betting service provider. Underdog announced an agreement with the MLB’s Cincinnati Reds. The Reds will serve as a market-access partner of Underdog. As a result, upon launching the market in Ohio, Underdog plans to introduce a variety of wagers for sports fans and bettors in the state.

“We’re building a unique, immersive sports betting platform and our partnership with the Cincinnati Reds will create an immediate channel to users in the state once our products are unveiled,” Jeremy Levine, President and Chairman of Underdog, said in a statement.

FansUnite will become a legal gaming supplier for Betr Holdings Inc.’s micro-betting sports brand betr, as well as potential new clients that operate in this state. betr is expected to launch in Ohio soon after the state legalizes sports wagering.

“This license represents a major milestone for not only our U.S. licensing strategy and B2B business, but also our overall North American expansion plan,” Scott Burton, CEO of the British Columbia-based FansUnite, said in a statement. “The state of Ohio is the latest jurisdiction to legalize sports betting and as a major sports hub, we expect it to generate significant gaming revenues for our B2B clients and our live activation team at Betting Hero.

“This license will enable us to gain an early-mover advantage in a new market. Furthermore, as we secure more client contracts for our B2B solutions and/or affiliate operations, we intend to gain access to new betting jurisdictions where our customers operate; additional state license applications are underway.”

FansUnite is a global sports and entertainment company, focusing on technology related to regulated and lawful online gaming. FansUnite’s one-of-a-kind iGaming platform Chameleon offers operators a full suite of gaming solutions for the next generation of online bettors and casino players. Along with providing B2B technology solutions, FansUnite operates multiple B2C brands, such as Scottish sportsbook McBookie and Brazilian esportsbook VamosGG.
