Jake Paul’s Betr Officially Granted Online Sports Betting License in Ohio.
In perhaps the oddest pairing ever in the history of online sports betting in the USA, the venerable Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio is partnering with Betr, the micro betting operation fronted by YouTube influencer/professional boxer Jake Paul, to offer legal and regulated online and mobile app sports betting in the Buckeye State.
The Pro Football Hall of Fame Village was granted a Type A sports betting license by the Ohio Casino Control Commission, giving it permission to operate a mobile sports betting app betr Ohio.
Betr was founded by Paul and Joey Levy, a veteran of the sports betting industry who co-founded Simplebet, which is focused on the technology behind micro betting.
What is Betr and micro betting?
Micro betting is live in-play wagering with an even more narrow focus. With micro betting, players are placing the emphasis on wagering on player props, totals and shifting lines within a sporting event. It’s very much a momentum driven style of wagering, but it’s also popular with smaller bettors, because wagers can be played for as little as $1. It’s a very popular form of wagering in Europe, and micro betting is slowly gaining steam in the USA.
“It’s sort of the TikTok-ification of sports betting,” Paul told Fox Business of Betr.
Paul’s interest in the Buckeye State is understandable. He was born in Westlake, Ohio. He’s also planning to host a show that will stream on the site and in which he will be interviewing prominent athletes.
Betr currently does not offer any promotions for new players in Ohio. Things can change and we will update you on all possible promo codes and free bets.
